WHAT DOES YOUR INNER MIRROR SAY TO YOU?

in #philosophy7 years ago

Greetings and Salutations Steemian Multiverse!

We perceive reality through a lens that is built up over time. We were not born with our self image, self esteem, or self respect (or lack there of for that matter.) When we are born we are actually a pretty blank slate. It is through our experiences from the point of birth that begins to form what a hypnotherapist or psychologist would call associations. It is though our associations that we begin to form our map of reality, and over time, our previously mentioned "inner mirror"

It is our reality map that shows us how to interact with the world around us, and how the world around us should interact with us. Spiders are scary, dogs are friendly, strawberries are tasty and peanuts are deadly, all things that a child learns though A. experience, or B. Teaching or the passing on of knowledge from our Primary Caregiver (usually our mothers) and as we move through the Autonomy process (the process by which we stop identifying ourselves with our primary care giver and begin to self identify through relationship with secondary caregivers.) and our Secondary Caregiver (usually Father, but can be teacher, pastor, grandfather, uncle, or any other significant person in the learning process)

This reality map is mostly (although not completely) formed from the ages of 0-8 years old, and forms the basis of what we call our critical mind, which rests half in our subconscious mind and half in our conscious mind. The critical faculty accepts, rejects, sorts and distorts information received though perception. Information comes in though our five senses, goes though the filter process (or lens) of the Critical Mind, and eventually is placed into what our critical faculty deems is the proper place.

This critical, conscious, and sub conscious faculties are no different that software on a computer and ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

The critical faculty also forms what I previously noted as the Inner Mirror in conjunction with our known and unknown beliefs.

Some will say that the most powerful source in the human psyche is Homeostasis (we'll leave that for a different day.) However, I would beg to differ, to this hypnotic steemian emerging fourth from the occulted shadows of Upper Michgian, I would say that the most powerful force is actually the inner mirror, or your own personal set of "I Am statements".

Your mirror is also largely built by P.C and S.C. We as individuals also play a role in its latter programming, as well as its subsequent maintenance. Every once in a while we experience something that gives this program a virus, and sometimes it's just programmed by somebody who has no businessmen programming anything, and as a result we end up with faulty mirror software, or what we call "thinking errors."

In cases where the mirror software within our computer-like mind (keep in mind, the mind is not like a computer, computers are like the mind, only much less complex...who built whom?) is properly running we see somebody who operates off of the basis of things such as:

"I am Smart""I am Confident""I deserve respect" "I am Proud" "I am Beautiful" "I am LOVED" "I am Gifted""I am Strong" "I am Worth it" " I am Independent" "I am Talented" "I am Resourceful" "I am Worthy" " I am Valued"

This results in a person who feels smart, confident, respected, proud, beautiful, loved, gifted, strong, worth it, independent and so on.

WHO YOU SEE YOURSELF AS, YOU BECOME

and more importantly

THE STATEMENT(s) THAT FOLLOW "I AM" WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW YOU! These self defining statements form our reality, and as such, the world around us. They are the self fulfilling prophesies that lead to inevitable success or failure.

Why do we repeat the same patterns, seemingly date the same people, (or stay with stay with unhealthy persons) why does anybody do what they do at all? PROGRAMMING!

A computer will always run and preform the way it is programmed to and so will you!

Does this mean that if we change our programming we change our lives?

DING DING DING! That's the Key!!

There is a statement : "Perception is Reality" I can't tell you how true that is.

Being in the field of helping people change their lives, I see first hand how a perception shift = reality shift.

I see people with Mirrors that were built while repeatedly being hit with bats and having stones thrown at them by P.C, S.C, Piers, and other players in our development,

Cases where the "mirror software" is improperly programmed we see people with "I Am" sets such as

i am worthless, weak, ugly, stupid, incapable (co-dependant), and so on. Sometimes these are known, but more often than not, people don't even realize it. These are the super powered

Unknown-I Ams

And cases where we see mirror programs that have gotten a virus (sustained trauma I.E. rape, sexual or standard harassment, infidelity, divorce, loss) we see similar statements, only you can add defining words such as: dirty, weaker, disgraceful, ectt.

These occurrences always do more damage or even potentially permanent damage to a mirror program that is already fractured by previous abuse, neglect, or trauma.

There is a certain "virus protection" software that's installed within a healthy inner mirror. Granted, these protections don't necessarily protect us from attack, or damage, however the damage can be significantly reduced or recovered from in shorter time by having healthy self image.

So what is my point with all of this rambling?

My fellow steemians, just as a computer can be repaired, reprogrammed and placed into a healthier state, so can you!

When we consciously change our inner mirror, we consciously change our lives.

A ripple occurs that flows into every aspect of our being that CAN NOT go un noticed.

I often tell my clients that little changes create big results, just as big doors swing on little hinges, and little pebbles make big ripples. The question is not what to change, but how?

How do we identify what needs work? Where our Viruses are? And what to do with them?

Well, there isn't enough time in my day to sit and type all of those answers, but I will tell you this,

Start by feeding yourself the information you want to see take hold. Do this

MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY

Bombard your mirror with positive "I AM's" and positive command lines.

Do you feel less than physically appealing?

I AM BEAUTIFUL I AM ATTRACTIVE I AM SEXY I AM DESIRED I AM SENSUAL

As soon as you open your eyes, in the shower, in your car, in your head at work, at home cooking dinner and before you close your eyes again, feed these things into your mind.

At first, there will be an inner conflict, a clashing, you might even feel like your lying to yourself.

KEEP GOING!!!!!

I can not stress that enough!

Your mind will fight back when you feed it things it does not like or believe, the conscious 12% begins a tug of war against the sub conscious 88% and honestly those odds sound crazy, but you can win! Your conscious mind has will, creative power, and intention. It operates out of more than programming because it possesses intention.

If you play that tug of war long enough, and you continue to feed your desired reality into you running operating system you WILL pull that 88% over.

Something magical happens at that point. You begin to believe your words because you begin to see evidence of their reality, and eventually one day, you will realize that those things that you've been fighting to feel, have now become your reality.

Just as when you were a teenager, you may have not noticed yourself growing, 1/4in at a time, but guess what, it was happening, and 1 month, 6 months, 12 months later, when you've taken a few measurements you see it plain as day, until one day you're looking in the mirror and say, WOW! I'M TALL! or... even better, someone else does.

Congratulations, you've changed your life!

WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION YOU CHANGE YOUR REALITY!

This especially holds true to perception of self.

Change your self image, change your world.

Thank you for visiting my page, reading my ramblings, and I pray much love and many blessings upon you and yours Steemians!
