Try to be More Present and Happier
Amidst the vibrant lifestyle, we often forget to enjoy little things in our life. We are often too busy to make ends meet, worrying about feeding ourself or family or trying to buy things that supposedly is going to make us happy. But have you ever thought, will that actually make you happy? Why can't you be happy now?
So often we learn nothing from life because we aren't present. We take small things for granted. We don't even have a time to take a look on terms of agreement or how to properly use a device. We simply use it and later complaining the system or whatever is broken.
Complaining can be a stress reliever but if you constantly doing it, there's something odd.You have to sit and take a moment to think. It's time to ask one simple question,
What is/are the thing(s) which holding me back to feel happy?
Furthermore, somedays are better than the others. Thus, if you have a better day take a moment to reflect all of your past actions and even better go outside.
Wake up as early as possible and notice how sky changed its color. Notice how people rush starting their days, notice how the wind blows or that one road sign you never know existed even after years.
Come back home and notice how many things you've missed simply because you don't take time to read or do it properly.
It takes time to be fully aware and being in present state. There are things beyond our control which can affect it. However, it's okay if we fail even after couple of attempts, we just have to try again. The sun is still rising the next morning and life is all about the process and progressing.
Namun, Jangan menyerah ketika kita gagal bahkan setelah beberapa kali mencoba. Hidup itu tentang sebuah proses dan kemajuan.

That is why I adopt the lifestyle as a minimalist.. less time to worry about other things and more to be living in the moment

Never heard of Epicurean, so I watched a YouTube clip... I am not an epicurean because happiness is their objective and goal.
For me, happiness is a bonus and by product of my lifestyle. My main goal is the save money, time, environment and have more times to spend with my family, friends and doing things I love.

This idea you touched on is a powerful one, and one our world seems to be getting further and further away from. There are too many distractions, too many things that keep our minds in the future. Marketing, technology, subversive incentivizing, self-image curating—the list goes on.
This practice of being mindful and present is exactly that, a practice. It takes dedication and discipline; but I do believe, like you, that it is necessary to living what we might call a "good" or happy life.
@douglasbalmain, thank you for taking a time to read this piece. This definitely takes practices, efforts even. I am on a journey to find my kind of happiness. And, I hope that I could share my insights more on this matter soon.
I love this post...
Simple but 100% to the point ...
Truth is I got stuck on that phrase 'Why can't you be happy now?'... Indeed, easier said than done...
I try to never take anything for granted. But my mistake is that I am usually too stuck to the past and too worries about the future that I usually miss the present - and it's in the present that happiness lies...
Thanks for making me think girl - positive thoughts are the best! :*
