Trying to Fix Problems? Or Trying to Outlive Them?

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

As problem emerge, some are noticeable early on, while others take time to create a high enough degree of impact or effect to be detected. Not everyone perceives the same thing at the same time, and some don't see problems even after they do manifest obvious symptoms.

At some point though, the issues can often be seen for what they are as the situation decays more and more. At that point, what happens? Do people try to fix the issue? Or do they try to outlive it and just get by hoping it doesn't affect them that much?

In many cases, even when we see a problem, and want to do something to fix it, we can't. We are often disempowered from doing something about issues taking place. Many things are occurring on a large scale and involve many people doing it, or many people supporting a few people doing it. It's not always evident what can be done, or if anything can be done, at least for the individual that see it and wants to do something about it.

An entrenched cause that produces negative effects can't easily be reverted by one person, or even by many people trying to change it. Not understanding an issue will leave us disempowered and unable to know how to tackle it and move forward to change things.

Many issues are so large that we don't even know where to begin. But speaking about what we see to increase the awareness of the problem is a good place to start. Even if we don't know where to start to resolve the issue, we can start the ball moving towards that end by getting more people involved in trying to figure out. For if there is no knowledge of the problem to begin with, there can't be any thought put into finding a solution to it.

The daunting enormity of a problem, or it's complexity, often leads to feeling like we can't do anything about it and don't have any power to affect change. So rather than even try to speak about it to make others aware, or try to think about it more, understand the issue more deeply, to identify the cause, it's easier to just go on as things are. Keep on keeping on. Go with the flow.

Exerting energy, effort and time into thought, or into trying to change flow of a society and the direction it is headed in, is a lot of hard work, with much resistance to change. There is even pressure to silence those who dare to speak up or try to change things.

This is an uncomfortable situation to be in, with anxiety and insecurity that can develop. It can be detrimental to our inner wellbeing, and depending on the severity of the issue it can be detrimental to fight against an issue because people will physically fight against you to protect their entrenched way of life and the current condition they are attached to.

This is what Morpheus refers to int he great allegory of the Matrix movies regarding how society functions:

"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it."

As situations decay, more people become aware. But others can still be so entrenched into the condition they are conditioned into accepting, that they will fight against those who speak up against the way they do things. They will ignore, deny and reject any valid exposition of the decay or problems within a system.

It's a tough path to take to challenge the systemic way of living and try to find a better way of doing things, but it's worth it. It's worth it for ourselves as individuals to stand for it, and it's worth it for everyone at large even if they don't realize the help we are trying to provide by challenging standardized norms of acceptability.

It's better to try to fix a problem, than ignore it and hope to outlive it, and leaving others to try to do something about it or end up in a further state of decay.

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

quite provocative to those ordinary people, :)

This here is a really deep problem.

Its like fixing a car.
Back in the 50s, almost every male american had an idea how to work on cars. It was in the culture. And the cars then needed a lot of care and maintenance. Tune-ups where a weekend thing to do.

Today, the car is so complex that a tune-up is actually impossible. Most people have no clue how the car works. But the car is very reliable and so, doesn't need much maintenance.

So, the problem is we have lost control of our cars. They can now be used to kill us. We are dependent on cars, unless we have a very particular lifestyle, which limits where you can live and what jobs you can have.

The answer most people give is to make the cars simpler, like they were back in the 50s. However, most of these people do not realize all of the advantages they have gotten from computer controls.

And the real answer is to completely redesign the car from the ground up.
Use a Tesla Turbine running a genset. Very efficient engine, with its only problems being its high speed and lack of speed control. (not needed when it just turns a generator). Then the motive force is provided by efficient ceramic magnet motors. And energy storage is provided by super capacitors.

This car is now far easier and cheaper to build. It requires very little in the way of rare earths. It can be built in a person's garage.

But, the most important part would be to make the computer fully open source with no attack surfaces. And this requires understanding that Fjord, Govern-cement Motors and Shuvy have been working with the govern-cement to have complete control over you.

The real problem is we do not know just how far the govern-cement has gone to control every part of our life. And, since we do not know just how corrupt... calling them pedo, rapist, murderer, control freaks doesn't do more than address the surface.

The real problem is everything you were taught in govern-cement schools is wrong.
And, we are far better served by rebuilding everything from the ground up.

Yes, the foundation in consciousness for understanding how the world functions needs to be reconstructed.

The problem must be solved from the root, deeply analyze what the problem is, depending on what causes it.

Sometimes the person is overwhelmed by personal problems, work, etc. and try Discovering how to solve a problem can become very difficult if you are not able to organize your ideas, change your attitude and decide to do everything possible to solve it.

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, professors, lawyers, carpenters. The minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand that most of these people are not ready to disconnect. And many of them are so inhabited, so irremediably dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it. "

morpheo what he meant is that this world there are people who are not ready to live reality and are happy locked in a surreal world.

Indeed, they don't want to look at the problems, and some fight to stop those who do because pointing out the problem is the system and way of life they are attached to is to threaten their ways of life.

You're right ... I'm very interested in the morpheo quote and I was curious and just researched the matrix and published a publication that you would like to take a look at.

are we trying to make this the best platform or trying to suck out as much money as possible before something better comes along?

Many act like they are doing 'good' by the platform and for the 'minnows' are actually thinking about themselves first and how much they can get out of the platform. Others know exactly what they are doing, and don't care that they are creating a detriment to the system because they are winning all the way to the bank in the short term.

and the minnows have no clue and believe it (they are trying to help) cause they havent seen whats really going on and anyone that trys to point it out gets censored.
:(
kernel, i remember the shit you went through. you handeled it way better then i did.
what is the next step in fixing shit? most people are to scared to speak up.

I think many people lack the courage to face things head on, and that can be expanded out to the collective when you consider peoples reluctance to face their dwindling loss of right and freedoms. Most know something is wrong but live in avoidance. We live in a World of victim consciousness where we prefer to take it and then feel sorry for ourselves rather than fac the challenges we need to face and then grow.

Hard work indeed, face and overcome by doing something instead of letting it all slide...

I think what people are hoping for is a creative solution to really fixing a problem, rather than trying to plead people to stop, or shame them by making a public spectacle of them.

(Which I guess goes both ways).

A social media platform is one of the hardest things to fix.. how people act, and what exploits they take.

...but at the blockchain layer, and witness layer, I think things could take a creative turn in the future. I'm excited to see what can develop.

A creative solution means what? The real solution in the real world is getting people to stop, by having them stop on their own through understanding, or through making them stop. Code can't deal with all of the intricacies of human behavior. What's a creative turn?

One can only ignore so many problems before moving into a mess or disaster. Closing eyes dosn't really solve anything, may just put our fear in the sleep mode. If something is serious then you either face it or it will come back again and again and again.

We should always try to fix the problems.Because once you avoid problem then it will get pilled up.It will increase for sure.Problems will come but we have to face it with courage. Thanks for the post.

Very good

Seems like this problem is from root level, it should be removed by proper checkup.
