First of all, we must not confuse between loneliness and solitude.
Loneliness is where one feels alone, unwanted and excluded. Therefore, loneliness is a painful, negative state.
You can surround yourself by people you love and still feel lonely.
Solitude, on the other hand, is where we find happiness and joy to be by ourselves. It allow us to get in touch with our true self. It is often related to greater self awareness, personal growth and greater creativity. It is something we choose.

Far away from people, Being alone help us make up our minds and enjoy calmness. Especially these days, where everybody are poking their noses into everybody's business. Solitude is one way of many to heal and distance ourselves from the noise of the world, social networks, television shows and the people.
Solitude doesn't make us antisocial. It make us better able to connect with others and choose better people to enter our lives.
It is wonderful what happens to the human spirit when we press the off button, when you jump into that emptiness.
