The Power of Gratitude
When at work my manager, always thanks me for finding something that has fallen through the gaps of one of our processes. This is part of my core functions and in the end, it prevents cost to the company in the grander scheme of things.
I do not require that thank you, but it has taught me to follow in that example, with all matters in life.
The reason I chose to apply in other aspects of my life, was because of its power.
Thank you - Maintains and grows a relationship.
- Shows acknowledgment - It makes you heard.
- It shows consideration and encourages it.
- It is respectful.
This, in turn, is a kindness. To be honest the world could do with more of it.
It starts with the self. Often we expect a certain behavior from others but do little to cultivate it. This act costs nothing but has so much value.
We all deserve positivity in our lives, irrespective of maybe having a bad day or making a mistake. At the same time, we can not expect it, if we do not lay a foundation of it.
We can not expect it to be consistent if we, in turn, are not consistent with it.
So often we get caught up in the waves of our lives that, we only look to see how the waves have affected us, rather than looking at it for what it is and being grateful for what it does.
We so often remember the bad, as our minds/neural paths created shortcuts to instant and bias conclusions.
I suspect that if I look at something long enough, I could find more and more things to appreciate about it.
Ever drive to work every day that you don't even look around to take in what you see?
But the day your car breaks down and you get a lift or take a taxi you see so much more places and beauty on the same roads you would normally drive along.
I believe a simple thank you has the ability you change so much for so many.
What are you thankful for today?

Great post. I find that is so true we move through this world unaware of so much beauty. I am grateful even for the bad for without it how would we know to see the good.
I completely agree with your statement! I often think that without the bad, I wouldnt be the person I am today without those experiences.
