National Language: A Key To Prosperity

It is sometimes hard to link language to prosperity. But we often think that other countries are rich and civilized because they are united by a common language. Even in our country, the national language is an issue because of the different languages and dialects we speak that lead to misunderstanding.

The Filipino language is our national language but it raises certain misconceptions because of its relation to Tagalog. Whatever the case maybe, our country is divided. Scattered islands and scattered ideas cannot easily be connected like pieces of a puzzle. It must be united by one language and understood by all PINOY.

A national language unites us all, and makes us whole. It speeds up the spread of ideas and beliefs. Yes, many of us consider Filipino as our national language but it needs widespread acceptance including the acceptance of the different cultures of the Filipinos.

We are at the new millennium, a time when every nation is expected to rise from poverty and bring forth worldwide order and unity. So, the recognition of a common language will bring this order and unity which brings forth prosperity.
