Filipino American In The Philippines #1: MY INTRO

I’ve been on Steemit for a few weeks now, and I haven’t quite found my groove yet. There are a ton of niches I can test and see what works. So far I’ve been writing a few Mixed Martial Arts / UFC articles without making any real strides. I have been uploading random movies and second hand info just to get into the habit of posting something (anything) on Steemit.

Besides the Mixed Martial Arts and replying to every article I find interesting, I’m going to try my luck at reporting my experiences on my current situation. Living in the Philippines. I’m Filipino American, but I’m not treated like a Filipino by the locals. I’m accepted at the same time kept at arms lengths because I’m not really a Filipino, or Pilipino. Whatever that means right? It depends on which side of the pond you were educated from.

Do I look Filipino American to you? Kinda, sorta, actually yeah, but not really.

I’m fairly young if you figure in that I’m semi-retired. I make a few bucks here and there online, as I like to make residual income. I’ve been in the Philippines for 8 years and counting, and I pretty much experienced all that the Philippines has to offer in terms of culture, politics, the beauty, and everyday life that one may encounter.

I have to say, it has been an incredible journey to say the least. As I approach my 9th year here in the Philippines, I have to take a serious look back at what I have done so far and try to write about it here in Steemit. It might spew into separate articles as the stories I have amassed ranges from the endearing, to pure chaotic situations.

You'll be seeing a lot more of my dog in future write ups. He's part of the family. He means a lot to me.

This little piece should have been my first blog on Steemit, but I had a rough idea of what Steemit really was and it’s potential. Only now, 4 weeks into it, do I finally and fully understand the power of the platform.

I'll attempt to return the upvotes as the come in. Take care guys, Ingat.
