Year 2018 - A Year of Breakthroughs!

"Most of us loves the idea of God changing our circumstances more than the idea of God changing us."
- Steven Furtick

Comfort zone. Safe zone.

We prefer to be in these places rather than taking risks on something we're uncertain of. We accept things or situations the way they are even if it goes against us. We just go with the flow hoping to be tossed by the waves of life and land on the seashore of treasures.

If we experienced these things last year 2017, well, that's life. Unfair. Unjust. Uncertain.

But!

It does not end there. 2018 has just began. I believe that this year has something for you!

There's a story in the Bible that I want to share.

"Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed (some manuscripts include, wholly or in part, paralyzed - and they waited for the moving of waters. From time to time an angel of the Lord would come down and stir up the waters. The first one into the pool after each such disturbance would be cured of whatever disease they had). One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, 'Do you want to get well?' 'Sir,' the invalid replied, 'I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.' Then Jesus said to him, 'Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.' At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked."
John 5:1‭-‬‬9 NIV

In this passage, the pool represents a place of comfort. Though it is not comforting knowing that you are in a big crowd waiting and will be racing in getting a miracle. But it's quite a solace to be in a place where you could be with another people who had similar disabilities; thereby feeling more normal in your own dysfunctions.

Jesus asked the invalid man if he wants to get well. Take note, get well. Jesus didn't ask about him getting better, but him getting well. Getting better is improving in your current state while getting well is a complete improvement of your current status - a 100% healing.

The heart of Jesus is for you to be completely healed.

Whatever is hurting you last year -
physical, emotional, finances or insert your painful experiences here; God wants you to be healed! He wants you to have a breakthrough of that and bring you to an advancement of life. He wants you to experience life to the fullest!

Perhaps you have reasons and doubts just like the invalid...

"I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me." (verse 7)

Yet,

"Then Jesus said to him, 'Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.'" (verse 8)

Reasons are true. They are facts. But truth is Jesus is the Healer. All we need to do is to trust Him and have faith in Him. Believe in Him more than you believe in your current situation.

Faith has the ability to override the facts!

We need to understand that God can change our situation by changing us from being a reason-giver to faith-conceiver and from fact-believer to truth-believer.

Therefore, let's stop reasoning out and just have faith in God!

I believe that breakthrough is on its way for you!
