This is a result of lowering demand for electricity in Boracay. The Island is the largest contributor to the cooperative.
Generally, the general manager, it only sees the option of "pass-on" consumers to fill their losses.
Despite this, they will negotiate with Akelco's independent power producers to lower their rates. When they agreed, they would only raise Php0.0162.

Its not usual when you are in Kalibo International Airport. Everytime you go their will always b a lot of foreighner who goes in Boracay.
Not only that. Did you know? That the income from Boracay Island subsidies the Provincial Hospital here and the Job Order Employees.
The medical services of hospitals owned by the provincial government at the end of Boracay Island. The large portion of provincial revenue at the terminal fee collection at Caticlan and Cagban port passed hospitals accepted by the provincial government to support its operations.
Now our Local Government is seeking national government assistance to support their operations.
The provincial government manages and runs the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital, district hospitals in Altavas and Ibajay, municipal hospitals in Buruanga, Boracay, Malay, Libacao and Madalag.
