I've always wondered if it's possible to have fully (or close) recyclable materials for 3d printing. Like if i print something today.. tomorrow i can "melt" it down and print something else..
And have you checked out 3d-printing by means of additive manufacturing?
I think it's called additive manufacturing since it doesn't subtract lol.. anyway it's here:

Yes, possible. There are manufacturers selling recycled filament, which were originally waste that they have collected from the consumers, melted and forming the filament used for domestic 3d printers. But mechanical strength of such parts deteriorate rapidly after 1 round of treatment. It is not advised for hobby makers to melt at home... very dangerous..
