A guinea pig is a best friend.

When I was 16, I have to move from my grandma's house to the house where I live today, with mommy and his boyfriend. Everything changed, and I started to feel very sad, I missed my grandma and my old friends, the feeling of being very far from my old home was starting to make me feel lonely. I know this sounds very dramatic, but I was begging to my mom for a kitty or a puppy.

To my surprise, one day when I came from the school, I saw him.

He was so little and so cute that I automatically fell in love with him. I had a new best friend without knowing how important he was about to be in my life.

This is Mr.Cobaya (Señor cobaya) I called him like this because, when I was a little girl I was a very big fan of Pinkie dinkie doo' show. And she had a blue guinea pig called Señor cobaya.

A new big responsibility.

I never had a pet before, I thought that a guinea pig would be more easy to care than a cat or a dog. Some people compare those cute animals with hamsters or rats. But nope. At the beginning, I didn't knew what to do. (Starts being dramatic again)

About guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs doesn't live as long as a cat or dog, but, they live 5 or 7 years, even longer, so , they're still having a large time to share with you. (If you take care of your guinea pig correctly, you'll have a good partner for a lot of years!)

Guinea pigs are very social, at first, they're shy because they're trying to being comfortable in their new habitat (your home) but... then, you'll going to see how they start to make sounds when they want something like attention or food.

They need space.

Guinea pigs are always jumping and running everywhere, around the house. I really recommend you to make a large cage to your guinea pig, with a bed, and of course water and food. BUT, they're not hamsters, they need to walk and play out of their cages.

Well, now you know it, but, there are other things. If you live in an apartment. You'll have to make it secure for your guinea pig, you must make sure that the room where your guinea pig is going to play is safe. No wires or holes where your pet can escape.

Yaaaaaaay! We're going to talk about the diet.

They principally need vegetables, some fruits and hay. (It is very very very important) Oh! and vitamin C. Vitamin C is important to the health of guinea pigs. You can buy it at the market and put it in their water. Your guinea pig will drink it normally.

Guinea pigs are very funny and gentle. Since I met mine, I'm happier than before, they're excellent pets and I'm really sure that if you find one, he would be the best partner for you!
