One of the most interesting aspects of presidential election cycles is "pet issues."
Since I'm generally anti-goverment, and fall into the category of people who thinks that gay farmers should be able to defend their marijuana farms with assault rifles, I tend to not like anybody.
Still, as I just alluded to, the Second Amendment is a pet issue for me.
Pet issues tend to be issues that will affect you personally. Just like most of you, I don't want to go to prison, and I don't want my friends to go to prison.
Biden said that he wanted to ban any guns that could hold more than "eight bullets in a round."
My carry gun is a 9+1. Biden wants me in prison for having it. Kamala Harris wants me in prison for having it.
Democrats in the state of Massachusetts have already passed laws that would make it a felony to own a fucking musket, because most of them don't have serial numbers, while also having a lot of laws on the books that ban modern firearms.
We all have these pet issues.
When it comes to every issue, I'm a liberal. When it comes to most American issues, I lean left on everything but economics -- and nobody is good on economics.
But, yeah, if there's one thing that the federal government of this country is actively trying to do to throw me and mine in jail, it's the gun issue.
If Democrats want my vote, they're welcome to stop threatening me with prison time for owning a thing that can protect me from bad people.
Until then, the pragmatist in me in voting Republican while the idealist in me is choosing not to vote at all.
Y'all have different pet issues. That's fine, and I respect that.
I don't respect the idea of throwing people in prison if they haven't hurt anyone, or just misread a policy.
Both major parties suck. The Republicans are marginally better at this point.
