Emma took these pictures of the Permaculture Garden she worked on, including A FUN ONE of herself with dirty hands!

YouTubeStars is a blog I have been producing since the very early days of YouTube. In those first days, it was a small community of video pioneers sharing random videos of their life. It seemed that almost everyone knew everyone else's work, and there was a lot of excitement and experimentation because no one knew what YouTube could become.

Sound familiar?

Steemit is like the early days of YouTube! Steemit CAN become as popular as YouTube!

YouTubeStars has had many Guest Bloggers over the last 12 years, including the four women shown here. Recently, Emma wrote a piece on Permaculture. I had never heard of Permaculture until I read this article here on steemit by @anwenbaumeister. In our post on Permaculture, Emma gives her own DEFINITION of Permaculture:

Permaculture, which reflects the concept of "permanent agriculture”, is the conscious based design and maintenance of cultivated ecosystems. It is a solution based outlook that utilizes harmonious appropriate technologies, efficient modes of energy, and provides goods, shelter, and other needs in a sustainable way.

Emma goes on to talk about 3 Permaculture Videos in our post on PermaCulture. This is a companion piece in which Emma shares some pictures of her Permaculture experience.

Emma worked as a garden intern at a hot springs community in Ashland, Oregon in July 2016.

Every day, she worked in the garden growing vegetables, fruit, herbs, and medicinal plants that fed and nourished the local community of residents, visitors and friends. She learned how to plant seeds, tend them as they grew, harvest and process food, as well as how to take proper care of the earth and environment.

In this first photograph, we see her fellow garden intern transplanting green onions into a fresh bed.

The second picture is a shot of one side of her garden with mostly lettuce in the beds, including a variety of lettuce in each bed.

Here is a close up shot of their lettuce. It makes me want to pick some and make a delicious nutritious salad!

This last photograph is of Emma, after transplanting all day and getting her hands dirty in the rich permaculture soil; a typical day in the garden. She obviously enjoyed her day!
