Life with Zonta International and the Zonta Club of Tacloban city

as we celebrate i cant but remember my journey as member . club secretary and later as Biennium 2016 to 2018 of Zonta Club of Tacloban City a member of Zonta International... I became a member of the club in 2009. I joined the club because it is an International club of women in he business and the profession that works for the empowerment of women through service and advocacy.

As a former Regional Chairperson of the General Assembly Binding Women for Reform Integrity Empowerment Leadership and Action (GABRIELA) i found the two women's club to have the same mission Empowering women.

Joining Zonta did not only addressed my passion to be of service to women but likewise give me the chance to meet women and men from all walks of life. It taught me what service to men and women is really all about. It has brought me to places both locally and internationally as we attend Area Meetings and International District Meetings and conferences. Zonta Philippines is under District 17 composed of the Philippines,Thailand ,Hongkong, Singapore and Macau.

Tacloban is under Area 3 composed of the Zonta club of the Visayas and Mindanao.When i retired from government service and after serving one biennium as club secretary i was elected as Biennium President for Biennium 2016 to 2018 of the Zonta Club of Tacloban. As such club president it is my duty to plan out programs,projects and actvities in accordance with the club biennium theme of D.R.E.AM. S --which is the acronym for D -direction, R for resources,E for empowerment of omenA for Advocacy ,M for Membership and S for Service. The bienniums color is Orange which stands for our Orange campaign ...the Zonta Campaign to say No to Violence against Women and Children (VAWC)

Last September i attended the Zonta District Intenational Conference held at the New World makati, Philippines. September 16-19,2018 I represented my club,proudly carried its banner wearing my Mestiza Dress( our national dress) made out of a grass known as "banig" ,speak in behalf of our city Mayor on how we cope and rise after Super Typhoon Yolanda. A Certificate of appreciation was given by Zonta as sharer at concurrent workshop No. 1 Women Responding to climate Change. During the Area meeting held at Cagayan De Oro City Philippines last January 25 to 28,2018 i as given a service award and lately last March 10,2018 i was likewised given the Distinguished Service Award...As a tre bloodied zontian I eat,sleep and pray Zonta and will continue to be .....
