Austrian fortune telling on the New year's eve

in #people8 years ago (edited)

I've learned something new during the first hours of this year last night. Apparently, there is an Austrian tradition of fortune telling with hot tin or lead allows poured into water.
And if you read Wikipedia, you will learn that it is called "Molybdomancy" instead of plain Austrian "Silvesterguß", it is also performed in Germany, Switzerland and Nordic countries, but originates in Greece...

I've got a "boat", which should mean "Geborgenheit", "feeling of security" translated in an awkward way.
