Festivals - Malaysia
Here are a few shots from Penang earlier this year. We were there visiting our friends Gavin and Joy who we hadn't seen in a few years. I was great to catch up with them and spend a few nights in Penang. It turns out Lisa (my wife) had Dengue. So while she recuperated in the dark and cool of the hotel I went for a wander to take a few pics. It turns out our visit coincided with Thaipusam. Excuse my ignorace, I'll defer to Wikipedia Thaipusam is a "festival celebrated by the Tamil and Malayali communities on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February), usually coinciding with Pushya star, known as Poosam in Tamil and Pooyam in Malayalam."
