Learning science in elementary school, relates to the environment in which students are located and students are indeed involved in learning. Many learning methods are used so students feel involved and try to find the truth of a concept. One method is to use the learning cycle method. The learning cycle model is one of the student-centered learning models (students cetered). This learning model provides the widest possible opportunity for students to develop all the potential that exists in them. Based on the author's experience so far this method is still rarely used to teach science lessons in elementary school. The method of lecture or question and answer that is often dominant is used.
Based on the results of observations on natural science learning at the Payabakong Elementary School 1, students were less enthusiastic to take lessons. This is because teachers rarely use varied learning methods. Teachers still often use conventional methods.
To overcome these problems, there is a need to apply various methods that can stimulate and foster students' creativity in learning, one of which is the learning model is the learning cycle. This learning model provides the totality of opportunities for students to develop their potential.
Based on the problems that have been described, the authors are interested in conducting a study entitled "The Use of Learning Cycle Models in Efforts to Increase Science Learning Outcomes Ecosystem Balance Materials in Class VI Students of SD Negeri 1 Payabakong".
