The Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method was invented in 1983, long before the first SARS-CoV-2 virus was known, to amplify (replicate) DNA, not analyze it. What is that test that analyzes PCR replicated DNA and decides whether or not there is SARS-CoV-2 virus?
