RE: From Contest to Community, the Pay It Forward Movement

in #payitforward6 years ago

aww I have my moments 😁

Honestly, this is how I have pictured things progressing. Seeing the past couple of weeks how many participants have visited the other features and even some of the features visiting, has been amazing. It has truly become a Pay It Forward mentality.

You're absolutely right about it being a community too. Everyone is committed to helping each other and that has become the beautiful thing about Steemit. I love we have this open for everyone to participate. I love that it's flexible. If you want to post every week you can. If you want to post 1 a month you can. If you just feel like visiting feature you can.

and @viking-ventures, I don't even know how you have the time to do what you do. You do an amazing amount for the community as a whole. Let me know how long 500 sp keeps your VP up. Right now with delegation I'm just over 200. I depleted 20% in an hour (silly me didn't check to see I was at just over 80% when I started, next thing I knew I was at 60)

It's so easy to knock out a bunch of VP really fast...lol. Heck with 2000sp I still have issues as I tend to want to give at least a 20% upvote and many times more then that.

Think the flexibility to take part in different ways is part of why it works. Those that can't make an entry for a week can take a few minutes and visit even a couple entries and help make a difference.

I don't have a day job - that's how... Other than kids, house and lots of writing, anyway. It's the only way I can do this much. But yes, the flexibility of Steemit is one of the many beautiful aspects - and why it works!

I didn't start at 100%, I was hanging out in the mid-high 70s... Now, I'm in the mid 60s. I was trying to use just enough VP to give a 0.2 SBD upvote where I wanted it. In addition to my PIFC entry today, I've also done a Daily Sneak entry, so that wiped me out a bit further. I did get through three PIFC entries today, so it's good. I'll see what I can manage in the morning...

Ahh that explains it. Nice to have the flexibility :) Now that I've changed jobs, I actually have permission to do this and take classes and pretty much anything else I want to do when it's slow. The previous job as soon as they found out what I did they blocked Steemit then anything with a .io address LOL

The new job sounds awesome then!

I really like it. I don't have people yelling at me anymore. That's the best part. Everyone has been very welcoming. It's just so mellow.
