SEC 20 w1| Introducción al patronaje| Clase # 1 - 11 September 2024

in #patronaje-s20w12 months ago (edited)

Here's my entry for this activity @lunasilver. I am learning a lot watching the videos that you've prepared. I hope I've been able to include the main points.

Blusa / Blouse :

I included my personal measurements in parenthesis.

1 Busto / Bust Circumference (105cm)
2 Hombro a Busto - Alto de Busto / Bust Height - Shoulder to Bust - Take the measurement from the higher shoulder point. (30cm)
3 Separación del Busto / Distance between Left Bust Apex to Right Bust Apex (14cm)
4 Cintura / Waist (92 cm)

I'd also check my back width and the shoulder to waist measurements especially in the back. I don't have a good back posture as I sit down a lot and I therefore have a rounded back that I need to consider when shortening garments.

Skirt :

1 Cintura / Waist = 92 cm
2 Cintura a Cadera / Waist to Hip = 16 cm

( Valor 2 puntos)

Three :

Escote / Neckline
Busto / Bust
Cintura / Waist

(Valor 2 puntos)

When I look at ready made patterns I basically look at what measurement I have. For instance if my bust is 105 cm I will choose the size 16 on the table you provided because that's the closest to my size. I will then proceed to trace and cut that particular pattern size.

On the table you included in the lesson I'd consider the following measurements :

Contorno de Busto (Full Bust measurement)
Ancho de Espalda / Back Width
Talle Delantero / Front - Shoulder to Waist
Talle Trasero / Back - Shoulder to Waist on the back

The image shows a (1) good quality tape measure, (2) elastic band or tape to put around the waist to see the contour of the waist and (3) a length of yarn to use as a necklace as shown in the video. I don’t have a necklace that length so I used yarn instead.

From personal experience I think it’s also very important to have a notebook to write down the measurements and the date as my personal measurements vary considerably.

(Valor 2 puntos)

I’m very keen to improve my skills. I currently use ready-made patterns to make things and I do a lot of alterations shortening and lengthening clothes. I feel it’s important to know why things go wrong and where to fix them.

For future activities I will try to use better graphics. This time I needed to sift through a lot of information that I'd never considered before. I did have some difficulty following all the information from the video because of the background music.

Thank you for reading !

Thank you for the support @steemcurator09 / @httr4life !

I have benefited from learning a new way of measuring clothes from you. And the way I learned has doubled.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Wishing you a safe life.

I totally agree @noelisdc because ready-made patterns don't always fit and are often not drafted very well either.

I would like to understand why things have gone wrong and how I can fix them because currently I just 'guess' and that's not always successful.
