Me Too Sinks Canadian Politician Accused of Sexual Assault and Harassment, Part 2

in #patrickbrown7 years ago

Here's the original print version of the allegations against Patrick Brown (see bottom of post).

But, first, there are three things to remember/know as you read them:

1. The drinking age in Ontario is 19. Getting a 16-year old drunk at a bar and then taking her to your home and then hitting on her shows, at best, really stupid judgment.

2. In Ontario law, unwanted sexual advances of any kind upon a subordinate is sexual harassment the first time it happens. Full stop. You don't get a freebie. Saying to a subordinate, just once, "I like you and would like to take you out on date" as polite as that is, is sexual harassment in Ontario if the subordinate complains. That's the rule of law here. Zero tolerance. Of all people, a politician should know and do better. His behaviour shows a remarkable lack of judgment.

3. Politicians not only have to obey the law like everyone else, they damn well had better conform to a higher standard than claiming that their morally deprived approaches to life are nevertheless legal.

Yes, Brown categorically denies all these allegations.
