Episode 6: Sailing to Norfolk & The Intracoastal Waterway

in #patreon6 years ago

This week we resume our trip sailing down to Norfolk, Virginia to start our journey travelling south on the famous Intracoastal Waterway, or the ICW. It is not only beautiful but also helps us avoid the notorious Cape Hatteras, a challenge to the most experienced of sailors.

Mother Nature, the weather gods and the elements are all much more forgiving compared to the week that we just had and we get to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery and sunsets on the trip so far!

We wish we could have stayed longer and explored more but visas wait for no one - especially in the US!

Sort:

What you are doing is exciting and challenging. I would be too scared to do this as my mechanical knowledge is very limited and would most likely end up being towed in. I will go back and catch up with your journey and look forward to any updates. Hope the head gasket is sorted and everything is now ok.

Thanks for the comment! 5henone thing that we can say is you can do anything you out your mind to. We certainly didn't know what we were doing when we started but we learned!!

We hope you enjoy catching up on the journey 😊

Hey, @hownottosail.

You all are braver than I am, especially on the open ocean. It looks beautiful, though. I'm sure I would enjoy the view. The stress and storms, not so much. :)

Looks like you made good time on this leg.

That was a pretty big barge/ship, especially with that load of containers. Very savvy commentary there. It would have to be pretty deep in order to keep afloat, I would think.

Enjoy your sea adventure, and congratulations on the curie. Great video and commentary.

Wow thank you so much for the feedback and commentary on our video! We are posting another one today so keep your eyes out!!

But yes, the storms are really tough and I would not want to experience much worse than we already have!! But the good times are so good!!

Hi @hownottosail,

Just discovered your videos. Love following along on your journey. Plan to go back and start from the beginning so I can get caught up. The drone footage on the open ocean, and everywhere else is awesome. Sorry to hear about the engine issues, hope they get better. (haven't watched the next episode yet, but saw it gets worse before it gets better.)
