RE: The Path To Focus: Clearing The Path - A Life Without Internet

in #pathtofocus6 years ago

Sounds like a very valuable experience and one that should be had every few months so we can take a step back for some much needed perspective.

I know well what you describe here. I've had this experience and lately have it often. On some days I will look at my email in the morning and then not look it or at anything else all day because of the great freedom I feel! Although I admit that I am still listening to podcasts or audible so it's not like I'm 100% free of the internet, just of the distracting social aspects.

There is a sweet spot of using the internet and connectivity to live and give better, but it's very easy to slip into it using us.

I think for someone like yourself who is constantly trying to create art, it is very important that you allow yourself these wall-staring moments of just thinking without the possibility of being distracted by notifications, text messages, and so on.

I think I am going to allocate internet days, I'll be flexible with it, ready to adapt to new situations. However I want to spend the majority of my life offline from now on.

Sounds like a really good plan and I like the flexibility within it.

Agreed that creativity needs wall staring time and lots of it!
