It is a medium sized bird, about 20cm long. It's easy to recognize with his red head.
In Ontario the status of the bird is 'special concern', which means is not endangered or threatened yet, but it may become endangered.
It was flying over me this week when I was cycling and it went to the to of an electrical post.
