Four Years Ago

in #parenting2 years ago

I hope everybody has been doing well. I started this blog four years ago and I allowed life to get in the way. The last few years have been crazy due to the pandemic. I am also currently going through a divorce. My son, who has autism, is still doing remote learning. It all has been a challenge, to say the least, but I am definitely already enjoying this new version of my life.

Parenting my son is the most important in my life. Kids need to be raised in a way so that they will be an added bonus to society and not people who will cause chaos and destruction. I am doing my best with the tools that I have to help lead and guide my son on his journey.

He is doing so well in middle school. He is in the sixth grade and has made the honor roll a couple of times. I am truly so proud and amazed at how he is being strong and working hard towards his goals. I conduct a few check-ins so that we can talk about anything his heart desires. Sometimes we are talking about how he doesn't want me and his dad to divorce and other times we are talking about Sonic the Hedgehog or the PBS kids' logo.

There is never a dull moment in my home and I like it that way. We are a package deal and we also look out for each other. I like it this way.

You will see more content from me. I am now in a mental space where I have more time. It's very interesting when you let someone go that wasn't good for you, how you have the mental and physical strength to do the things that you always wanted to do. At this point, I have my son 365 nights a year (I hope that his dad can make time for him in the near future), and I still feel as though my time has been added to my day. I also started a website and Youtube channel that will talk about all things home. Since it's in the beginning stages, I currently only post remote jobs. Feel free to check it out and share. https://successfullyathome.com/

I look forward to our many interactions about parenting. It feels great to be back!
