Picard has some serious PTSD over being assimilated over 20 something years ago. It's pretty bad, but he sucks it up.

We do have a glimpse into Picard less as a captain and more as a human being.

These two love-birds are both trying to outsmart each other. The Romulan is a secret operative trying to exploit the unsuspecting android daughter of data. He woo's her, and makes love to her. He is also in-love with her; but betrays her for her unconscious secrets.

More drama between Picards new / old first officer. Hans solo-wanna-be consoles her.

Not without taking her bottle for himself.

Daughter of data figures out she is an android. All of her memories are fake.

Picard arrives onto the research cube vessel.

The impending rescue will soon commence.

An old STNG character arrives and gives Picard and the android a way to escape before the Romulans can catch them.

Conclusion:

This was one of the stronger episodes in the season. It may help conclude the first season on a stronger note. Next week we meet William Riker (Picard's original STNG first officer).

7.5/10

Sort:

Wow, the way you describe it makes it seem like it doesn't suck. Picard looks so... lumpy. He's a younger version of Snoke.
