Cesar Azpilicueta says Chelsea are near achieving the levels head mentor Frank Lampard needs to see from his new group.

The Blues' pre-season results had been somehow and way worse until they beat Barcelona 2-1 on Tuesday in Lampard's fourth neighborly cum friendly match since landing from Derby.

He has supplanted Maurizio Sarri, who was notable for his unbending 4-3-3 development and ownership based style of play, and Azpilicueta says Chelsea are adjusting to Lampard's requests.

    A #ccc post should count 200 words. Yours has not even 90🤔.
    I wonder why I take so much effort to count my words each time (next to my steps).
    I also do not see the #ccc invitation. You never use it?
