PREFACE

Today’s article will discuss something very unique and exceptional. Two weeks ago I can remember an argument with a friend who was trying to prove a point that the current crytcorrencies have failed to some extent in their primary goals which were mainly security, scalability, market liquidity and others in that line: after comparing so many platforms I was almost speechless when I also saw with him that the current exchange market is lacking a lot.
In the first Quarter of this year (2018), the cryptocurrency future was promising. As early as it was the market had attained a market cap of about one trillion-dollar, this alone had displaced many existing agencies . But recent months have tend to identify very paramount challenges in the industry which has slowed down the mass adoption of this currencies, this problems or challenges are explained below;

• INSECURITY
  Since the onset, cryptocurrency has promised the World optimumly secured exchanges, it seems a lot of criminal minds have been fully out to frustrate these goals. It seems all the cyber criminal minds are out to completely tear down the reputation of cryptocurrency and Blockchain. In 2017 alone careful statistics have recorded a lost of over $250 million dollars to security breaches or hacks, and early 2018 about $700 million dollars was lost by major exchanges. Many now become afraid, “if this is possible just at the beginning with a relatively lower popularity, what would happen in coming years”. These were the exact words my friend used while we argued.

  At some point the current crypto exchanges leave their users to the knowledge or idea that they were not prepared for business. Although it is understandable that early 2018 and late 2017 brought a massive influx of new users and traders at rates greater than expected, the fact remains unchanged that the current cryptocurrency exchanges have failed in transaction scalability with many of them reaching scalability threshold so quickly & early.
  It is no longer hidden that many exchanges by one means or the other manipulate cryto markets. They employ methods ranging from voluntary momentum ignition to pump & dump, spoofing, wash trading and so many other methods. If you and I were to be investors, why would we ever want to make the mistake of playing a manipulated game.

• Another devastating challenge is that inadequate market liquidity. The cryptocurrency market has been manipulated to result in price fluctuations at very short and abnormal time interval. “The cornerstone of any successful exchange is liquidity”.

• Poor customer support will not be exempted from this list.
