Crazy Storm Surge in Oregon
Yesterday we had a massive storm along the west coast which created a storm surge of incoming water unlike I have ever seen in my 27 year life living on the Oregon coast. I retrieved these photos from my Facebook feed which was also filled with crazy videos of incoming water. Pictured below is a upscale restaurant in Lincoln City Oregon named Kylos that is usually meters above the high water line and 200 or so meters horizontally from extreme high water line. Also is a picture of the lighthouse nicknamed "Terrible Tilly" which I have posted photos before when I was there and conditions were nice. I looked for but couldn't find another picture of a man standing on the ledge while massive waves shot vertically upward after being smashed into the cliff wall. Many peoples homes and businesses were damaged in the storm and flooding. A man was also swept into the sea after climbing over the stone barrier in Depoe Bay Oregon and is presumed dead by the U.S.C.G. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. The Pacific ocean is as dangerous as she is big and even after spending my entire life next to her and hundreds of hours in her I still maintain a weary eye on her at all times. When visiting the beach always remember to stay off logs that may roll, never turn your back on the ocean. Be weary of climbing out onto rocks or jettys during low tide and becoming trapped as the tide rises. Most importantly be respectful of the mighty power that the oceans contain and never let your guard down.

Storm surge is no joke. Nice view nonetheless
