is there svg support planned on steemit?

Yesterday i tried to set userpic (thanks for the feature, really cool, long anticipated - and now working! I believe userpics making steemit more attractive to readers. it s often easier to match people by picture than by text string) - and was frustrated by fact i cannot use .svg for this. So for now i use this random picture instead of what i really wanted to.

I understand svg in userpics is somewhat a rare/edge case - but .svg is good thing, enabling better content - so maybe you could enable this kind of graphics, too? Is there any security issues to allow .svg files passing thru imageproxy?
