My dear readers, does the world belong to the powerful?

Donald Trump, the U.S. president drew attention with his proposal to reshape the global order. In this context, he suggested a meeting between himself, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping. When asked by a journalist whether the G20 would be a more appropriate forum, he categorically dismissed the idea. Trump is an advocate of the Monroe Doctrine (1823), which asserts that "America is for Americans" and that each major power should oversee its respective region—thus, in this vision, Asia belongs to China, and Europe to Russia.

Nearly all civilians have been displaced, the vast majority crammed into just 3% of the territory. Hunger is rampant, children are deprived of education and suffer deep psychological trauma. The destruction is near total: most buildings are damaged or reduced to rubble, and entire neighborhoods have been wiped out.

Difficult times...
