SLC S27 Week1 - Let's Play OpenTTD

Assalamualaikum my fellows I hope you will be fine by the grace of Allah.

I am participating in the video game OpenTTD challenge by @sergeyk. I like to play games but this is my first time playing this game. I hope I will learn and showcase my work through this challenge.

Install and set up the game. Choose English and USD.

I have downloaded game installer file from the direct link given in the lesson. It is a small file and it was downloaded in a while.

Many games takes too much time in the installation. I was thinking that the installer file is small and while installton it will take much time in the installtion to download the game main file. But it was not like this. I installed it in less than minute.

I have downloaded graphics for the game. The statement says OpenTTd requires graphics which were not foend so to play game I downloaded graphics.

	I skip the message of sound and survey.
I have opened check online content.

I will download necessary components to completely setup game. I will follow instructions given in the lesson.

I opened the game options. I have set currency in the game to USD and my language is already in English. I am increase interface size because it is looking comfortable to me according to my screen size. I set base graphics set abase. In the sound music pack I dset music Animusic MIDI Pack.

I think I have setup all the game according to the instructions given in the lesson. Now I am creating new game. I have choosen new game. I am selecting biome 3 to play game. I selected all other settings such as very flat and hit generate and the game created successfully.

Game created successfully after many efforts.

I have saved the game in the directory. I did not give any name to the game. I exit the game.

I load saved game from the directory. It is easy and simple to load. I selected saved game and load it.

Have you played train games before, or did you have a railway in your childhood?

I have not played train games. I have played PUBG mpobile game a lot even day and night. But now I am not playing that game. I did not have any railway in my childhood.

Describe three toolbar buttons and the windows used in the program.

I will describe these three buttons from the toolbar of the game:

Finances Button

This button in the toolbar is used to open the finances window of the company. This button shows finance related information. It has following features:

• It shows income, expenses, and yearly balance.
• It is also used to take or repay loans.
• We can monitor financial health and plan investments.

Build Airports Button

This is an important button in the toolbar. It is related to the development of the airports. It has following functions:

• It opens the airport construction toolbar.
• It helps to build small and intercontinental airports.
• It can also be used to place hangars. In these aircrafts are bought and maintained.

Map Button

Map is important part in this game to identify different things on the map. This map button is very useful and it has following features:

• It opens the minimap window.
• It shows teh terrain. It shows the cities, industries, and company insfrastrcuture.
• It is useful for the planning and to spot the good transport routes.

I have noticed it already the buttons in the windows are unusual than the other normal softwares. The buttons looks awkward and strange.

I have opened the subsidy list window and I will try my best to explain these unusual window buttons. I have alotted some numbers to all the window buttons and I will analyze them.

Number of Button	Details
1	This is the close window button. It is used to close the opened window. Usually this close button window is available on the right top corner in other softwares.

2	This is the shade window button. When pressed the window only shows the title bar and remaining is closed.
3	This resie window to default size. If I have dragged the windwo to larger or lower size then to get default size I have to clcik this button.
4	This pin shape button is used to mark the window as uncloseable by close all windows key which is Ctrl+Click.
5	This is click and drag button to increase and decrease the size of the window.
6	This is the scroll button to scroll the list upward.
7	This is the scroll button to scroll the list downward.

I completely agree that in the game windows there are unusual buttons.

Choose a city with a small population of around 500 inhabitants and rename it to your Steemit name

To choose the city I will open town directory.

I have opened town directory to choose a city which has population of around 500 inhabitants. I have sirted al teh towns/cities according to their population. The population of each town is increasing from top to bottom. I have selected Radhead city . It has 509 population.

Renaming a town or city is easy. I have clicked on the city name Radhead and the map focused on it. I clicked the city and it opened a new window. To change name I selected edit or change town name option. It opened a new dialoge box. I added the name with my username and added a suffix and the name of the town becomes akmalshakirhill.

Near my city I have explored the map and I have found three nearest towns Fronston, Drunfingley, and Nenley. From these biggest one is Fronston.

Fronston is the largest nearest city of my city so I have named it as capital.

I have successfully changed the avatar. I have chosen a new face with glasses. I have changed colour to red. I have changed the ame of the company to steemit. At the end I have installed the HQ office of the company in my city. My office is visible with the red colour scheme.

Test the Landscape tool.

This is another interesting exploration task. I willtry to identify this tool and use it.

Whil learning from the lesson I have come to know landscape tool is present at the end of the buttons. I have highlighted the button. I clicked it and it opened a new window.

I have used depressions tool from landscape tool. It worked very well. I have written A using depressions.

I have used mounds tool. Using mounds tool I have written S on the ground. It also worked very well.

I have used clear tool to clear the area. I have removed trees from the ground. Each clear of the tree cost me $30.

I have planted trees in the terrain. I was planting trees but I was not able because those trees were not suitable for the terrain. Then I got it it is a desert and only cactus plants can be planted and grown here.

From the settings I have long press and chosen transparency options. These are all the transparency tools which help to remove trees, houses, roads, signs.

I used tranparency tool to hide the items. After this I used it again and I make all the items visible which I hide.

Explore resources and industries independently. Locate resources on the map

I will exploreindustries and resources in the game. As it is related to industries so I will open industry window and I will explore all the availabel industries and resources.

This is industry directory. I can see the availabel industries in the biome or on the map. I have sorted the industries according to their production. I an see many resources on the map. I will try to explore some of them.

I have identified some of these resources on the map. All are very useful resources.

I have found out that in my town there are factory, food processing unit, planation of rubber, copper ore mine, water tank. So I can use resources from my town to run factory of my town.

I can see factory of my town requires rubber, copper ore, and wood. I already have two resources in my town excpet wood so I can provide it to my factory.

Simialrly I have food processing factory in my own town and in my nearest biggest city which is capital have corn stock. I can get corn from capital and can run y food processing factory to make products.
