This week I am pleased to share another ORIGINAL tune from December 2017

This song was written as I finally reached a huge goal of mine on my cycle tour last year
(see my blog for more info)
I have been learning French for a few years in to dating a french native in 2013 and have only ever visited France as a monolingual
So it was quite the build up after splitting with my partner of 5 years and really ramping up my language practice in hopes of visiting France and being able to carry my conversation and hopefully develop a life and friends there
I was so excited to visit this place again, this time alone, and prove to myself (suuuure) that I could hold my own
I dreamed of moving to to France and joining a culture that I identify closer with than the US
Socialism, arts, history, food, romance! I couldn't wait
But once I finally arrived, I accepted "this awkward feeling"
"that it wasn't about change, it was always about her"
single tear rolls out of each eye
