"...but he is rated 133 over hurdles - and had winning Flat form for his previous trainer, albeit many moons ago now - so you have to respect his chance, obviously."
14:05 - Magical
Aidan has won this maiden with some very good fillies in recent years. He relies on Magical here, and she is a full sister to Rhododendron. Everyone is aware that the stable have had very few juvenile first-time-out winners though, and Dawn Delivers sets a decent level to aim at, so let's see. I haven't heard anything about my filly yet, though.
15:10 - Pocketfullofdreams
She is a versatile filly trip-wise and broke her maiden tag when winning over 1m at Naas and she wasn't disgraced at all when beaten only 11 lengths in the Group 1 Pretty Polly over 1m2f here last time. Back down in trip, and grade, she has a chance but she does need to improve to beat one or two of these.
15:45 - Spirit Of Valor
This looks a very competitive Group 2 over 7f with several possible winners. But my colt is joint top-rated and he clearly comes here on the back of a career-best second at odds of 66/1 in the Jersey last time. If reproducing that level of performance, and maybe improving again, he clearly is in with a fair shout in an open race with trip and ground to suit.
16:45 - Sure Reef
Everyone knows how good Willie is on the Flat these days. I think this is the first time this horse has raced on the Flat for him, and he comes here after being pulled up in a chase last time, but he is rated 133 over hurdles - and had winning Flat form for his previous trainer, albeit many moons ago now - so you have to respect his chance, obviously.
