OnePlus 5T is launching tonight in India and its price could be Rs 32,999
There is nothing official about it. But chances are that the OnePlus 5T will cost Rs 32,999 in India. This will be the price for the phone's 6GB variant, with the 8GB variant probably costing Rs 37,999. The OnePlus 5T will be launched tonight around 9.30PM India time. The phone will be on sale from November 21, although the early sale from 4.30PM will be open only to Prime subscribers of Amazon India.
Now, these speculated prices. They make a lot of sense. In a way the only thing that we know for sure about the price of the OnePlus 5T ahead of the its launch is that it will cost lower than $600. This is something that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had hinted at in his online comment on a Chinese social media site a few days ago. But since then there have been more reports and leaks.
The most credible of these comes from UK, where Techradar has reportedly seen the documents that note the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 5 have the same prices in the UK. This makes a lot of sense because the OnePlus 5 is already out of stock in almost all markets. Even in India it is no longer available - though you may see the 128GB variant in stock occasionally. The reason why the OnePlus 5 has gone out of stock everywhere is probably because it is going to be replaced by the OnePlus 5T at the same prices.
If the OnePlus 5T is going to have the OnePlus prices in the UK, there is every possibility that the same will be true for India, which is the biggest market for OnePlus in the world.
If you recall, this wasn't the case with the OnePlus 3T when the OnePlus 5 launched in June. Or with the OnePlus 3 last year when the OnePlus 3T launched. When the OnePlus 5 was launched, the OnePlus 3T continued in stock because its price was lower than the launch price of the OnePlus 5. Similarly, even for months after the release of the OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 3 last year was in stock in India because it was selling at a lower price compared to that of the 3T.
This time, however, OnePlus 5 is gone from the market because the OnePlus 5T is going to have the same price. Connect the dots, sounds plausible. Then there is a report by tech blog in India. This report too says that the OnePlus 5T is going to have a starting price of Rs 32,999. Although, this is seemingly some new blog, it is actually a pretty safe prediction to make. Currently, given the signs in the market, and the signals made by OnePlus so far, it doesn't look that OnePlus 5T will have a price that is different from that of the OnePlus 5.
