Gaur is located under Shibganj upazila in the district of Chapai Nawabganj near the India-Bangladesh international border.
It was the ancient capital of Bengal.Once it was a well populated and magnificent city.The Mughal emperor Humayun renamed it 'Jannatabad' or 'house of paradise' for its beauty.During the Muslim period it served as the capital of Bengal for more than three centuries.This is an amazing place to visit for the history lovers.
