The oldest participant in the Games
Oscar Gomer Swahn (1847-1927) was a Swedish scorer who in the early 20th century, three times won the Olympics. During the show in London in 1908, then in his homeland of Sweden in 1912 and in Antwerp, Belgium in 1920, he won six medals: three gold, one silver and two bronze. In the column "oldest gold medalist at the Olympic Games," he enrolled in 1912, when the 64 years was the best in the discipline of shooting moving targets at 100 meters.
In addition to the achievements, he managed to become the oldest participant in the Games in their modern history. This he succeeded in 1920, when he represented Sweden at the contest in Antwerp, Belgium. And then, with 72 years, managed to win a medal, this time silver, and thus become the oldest athlete ever to win a medal at the Olympics. He was preparing for the next Games in Paris in 1924. However, the ill and had to withdraw from the competition.
