You don't need to post good content on steemit to be successful, post literally anything just as thediyworld has done.

You need to think of steemit like a MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) in beta, that the beta player have already ruined. steem is like gold in a MMOG, worthless in the real world, but can be bought with real money.

steem power is like your players level in an MMOG, there are no level caps in steemit, there are in fact steemit accounts with 16 million or more steem power.

Voting would be loot in a MMOG, you get enough votes and it turns into steem.

Now there is no way to play this game honestly because the cheaters have already ruined it. So if we want to play we have to cheat.

The first step, make a post, post anything.

step two, start commenting, I suggest you comment to yourself or a reply on your posts, do this a lot, hundred of times, this is important because you can only vote once on a post, comment or reply and you will need to lots of up votes. commenting also helps you earn awards. Award's are like accomplishment or trophy's in a MMOG, they get posted in ranking, ranking is a list of recent achievements by steemit players, this helps your posts get noticed so other players help you by voting on you posts, they expect you to do the same.

step three , vote, don't vote on you post just yet, vote on your comments, limit this to 10 a day for now.

step four, after you have earned at least 1.100 but a more conservative 2.00 steem , you go and find a voting crew. A voting crew would be like a guild group on a MMOG, they have lots of steem power and accounts to vote with, they ask new player for steem in exchange for votes. Their voting accounts have lots of steem power, this make their votes add more steem to your posts

step five, convert most of your steem into steem power, so your votes add more value, repeat step four on a new post, and up vote your posts with your new steem power.

step six, start creating sub accounts.

this is also important, because this allows you to make more vote on you posts. You can transfer seem and steem power to these accounts. you don't even have to log into these account, you can automate their voting to follow your own

step seven repeat steps 4,5, and 6 forever.

at some point you will have enough steem power and sub accounts, that you can be a voting crew. you are now able to spam all the new posters like thediyworld with one of your sub accounts, asking for steem in exchange for up votes. You need to use a sub account because doing this lowers that accounts reputation, reputation affects the visibility of your posts.

you should have millions of steem in no time.

And that's the boring game of steemit, the tagging is intentional.
