Did Obama set America up for division and ultimately failure?

Whether it's Trump or Hillary that wins, the United States is now divided to the point that there are two groups which strongly oppose either option, and it looks like we are going to see riots from either side if they don't get their way.

What do you think? Did Obama set the United States up for failure with his divisive nature?

Is it conceivable that he did this because he is unhappy with the fact that he can't remain in power, and rule as a dictator?
