Pen Drawing On Paper- Best Choice Of Background?

in #ntopaz5 years ago (edited)

Now I am almost close to finishing this piece. After much deliberation with my friend on what color to use as a background - blue or black - I ended choosing deep blue as the most preferred color instead of black.

Initially, I had earlier thought of using black but my roommate suggested that black would make the work look dull so he suggested blue.

Giving a try after much deliberation and imaginative thoughts in how it would look like, it appears that this would be the best option.

Stay tuned for the final piece.

It is amazing your work @maxwellmarcusart, excellent values and good that in the end you paid attention to your friend and worked the background with the blue. ;)

Yeah am happy I did. Sometimes other people's suggestions to artists do really help for them to do better work.

Thanks for your comment.

You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
It is good to be open to the perspectives of others, you can learn and understand several things, even have ideas.

That is one thing I don't joke with especially if the suggestion is coming from art lovers but are not artists. They sometimes see what artists don't see.

It is very true, in my case I like to know the opinion of the observers of my publications although they are almost always praise but I like a criticism much more than a compliment.

Praise makes the ego grow while criticism allows you to improve on what you do.

Same with me. I always love and welcome constructive criticisms cause I would learn a lot from there. They help build me and make me better.

Hi Max, this is very beautiful drawing, this time you worked with very fine lines so that everything merged into smooth blue colour. Great attention you paid to value of your pen, nicely done :)

I really appreciate your comment.
Yes, I took out time to make my strokes gently and invincible.

Thanks for the suggestion of posting via @ntopaz.

Saludos.

Thanks for the greeting and appreciation of my piece. My goal in every portrait is to make the work look as real as possible. Am still in the process of getting better though.

Wow, that's art! outstanding piece! 👌👌👌

It's looking amazing! Such a smooth finish for pen work. I really like the blue, because its like a black and white photo, but blue scaled rather than the greys we're used to.

Me too. Am a fan of blue and l'm happy I chose it.

extraordinary work is going very well, you already have the main layers very well distributed, the components are well in proportions, focus now on giving contrasts by nodding the shadows a little more and the degradations, excellent work my friend

Thank you for the suggestion. I will see to it.
