A day in the life : Day 281
Woke up before the alarm today. That’s rare. The room was still dark, and I just lay there for a few minutes, not thinking much. It felt like the world hadn’t started yet, and I didn’t need to rush into it. I made a slow cup of coffee and kept the lights dim while checking a few overnight emails. Nothing demanding. That helped set the tone.
Most of the day was spent on backend tweaks for one of my smaller apps. Not glamorous stuff, just things that needed to be cleaned up — old functions, messy conditions, database calls I could optimize a little better. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t show on the surface, but I know it matters long-term.
I took a break in the afternoon and walked to the nearby shop. Picked up a few basic things. No headphones, just ambient noise. I realized I hadn’t stepped outside in two days. That probably wasn’t good.
Made a proper dinner for once — rice and dal with a bit of ghee. Simple, comforting. I ate without screens, just sat there, chewing slow. That helped more than I expected.
Evening was quiet. I didn’t open any social apps, didn’t try to distract myself. Just watched the fan spin and let the thoughts come and go. Some loneliness crept in, but I didn’t fight it.
It passed, like everything does.
