A day in the life : Day 205
Woke up to the sound of rain drumming against the window. Instantly felt cozy and a little bit lazy. Decided to embrace it and just…slow down. Coffee was essential, obviously, especially on a rainy morning. I actually took the time to froth the milk, which is a rare treat.
Spent a good chunk of the morning reading. I’m currently lost in a historical fiction novel – it’s completely absorbing. I curled up on the sofa with a blanket and just lost track of time.
Around lunchtime, I decided to tackle a little indoor gardening. I repotted a few succulents and gave them a good watering. It’s surprisingly therapeutic getting your hands dirty.
The afternoon was pretty low-key. I did a little bit of online shopping – mostly browsing, not actually buying anything – and listened to a playlist of chill music.
Then I decided to try a new recipe for dinner – a hearty vegetable stew. It was perfect for a rainy day. I ended up making a big batch, so I’ll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
In the evening, I had a long phone call with a friend who lives in another city. We talked about everything and nothing. It was good to catch up and feel connected.
Finished the night with a cup of herbal tea and a face mask. Just a little bit of self-care. It was a quiet day, but a really nice one. Sometimes you just need a day to recharge and do things that make you happy. The rain definitely helped create the perfect atmosphere for it.
