A day in the life : Day 204
Today was definitely a “running around” kind of day. Started with a last-minute trip to the farmers market. I needed fresh produce for a recipe I was attempting, and realized I was completely out of everything. It was busy, but I love the energy of the market. So many colours and smells!
Then it was straight into a series of errands. Dry cleaning, post office, grocery store… the usual weekend chaos. I tried to combine trips to be efficient, but it still felt like I was constantly in motion.
The afternoon was dedicated to that recipe I mentioned – a complicated layered cake. It took hours. There were definitely a few moments where I questioned my life choices, but it actually turned out pretty well! Slightly wonky, but delicious.
After the baking marathon, I needed a break. I ended up tackling a closet declutter. It’s amazing how much stuff we accumulate! I filled several bags to donate. Felt good to get rid of things I wasn’t using anymore.
In the evening, my family came over for dinner. We ate outside on the patio, which was lovely. Lots of laughter and conversation. My niece and nephew were particularly energetic.
Finished the night with a cup of tea and a good book. My feet are aching, and I’m thoroughly exhausted, but it was a good kind of tired. A productive, fulfilling kind. It’s nice to have those days where you really get things done. Just hoping tomorrow is a little more…chill.
