Today is October 1st!

This day reminds me of sacrifices; this day reminds me of a struggle achieved through blood, sweat and tears; this day reminds me of a longing and its 57th anniversary today.

Today is October 1st!

A day that teaches me that Nigerians are strong and united, able to do the impossible and attain the unthinkable. A day that teaches that we are blood and bond! Our children and generations yet to come will celebrate this day. We are an indivisible atom

Today is October 1st!

This day prepares me for the future; who will the next generations refer to as 'Our Heroes past'? How will they work to make Nigeria greater than what we will leave it as? Someday, our children will not know the sufferings that this nation have been through because the nation will work and lack, poverty and underdevelopment will be a thing of the past.

Pray this prayer to yourself

 Arise, O compatriots
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom
Peace and unity. 

And pray this Prayer to God

 Oh God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And live in just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign
