In the first place round pick and running back Ezekiel Elliott, and also the greater part of the main string Dallas Cowboys' offense, is relied upon to make his NFL preseason debut against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night at CenturyLink Field. A hamstring damage kept Elliott out of Dallas' initial two preseason challenges, however the 21-year-old tenderfoot will get his first taste of the group against Seattle's hard-hitting guard.

The Dallas Cowboys have been investing big time in their offensive line over the years. They have been building an imposing line both to dominate the trenches in the running game and to protect franchise quarterback Tony Romo. And things are coming to a head this season, as the Cowboys spent a first-round pick on running back Ezekiel Elliott. We're going into the third week of the preseason, and we've yet to see Elliott take the field. But on Thursday, Elliott is expected to make his debut after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Elliott has been held out for precautionary reasons. It's unclear how much time he'll see on the field against the Seattle Seahawks, owners of one of the league's top defenses full of hard-hitting players. But if Elliott is ready to go, the Seahwaks are as good a first test as any. Elliott isn't the only Cowboys player to watch on Thursday. Fellow rookie Dak Prescott has looked incredible in his first two games and seems to have established himself as the primary backup quarterback behind Romo. Prescott and Elliott could very well be the future of the team, and it will be interesting to see if both players are on the field at the same time on Thursday. The offensive line is also a point of focus for the Seahawks, but the Cowboys have little to worry about while their opponents are still trying to find what works. Seattle's offensive line was terrible last season and they didn't do a ton to fix the position this offseason. They have played decent football in the preseason thus far, but it will continue to be a focal point going forward. Seattle's offense as a whole has looked sluggish so far in the preseason. Pete Carroll insists he's not worried about Russell Wilson and the rest of the starters, but through two games they have accomplished little. They should see extended time against the Cowboys on Thursday, however. Thursday's game between the Cowboys and Seahawks will be just one of two games played on the day. The other will feature the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins and will begin at 8 p.m. ET. The Cowboys-Seahwaks game will not be broadcast nationally but a live stream will be available via NFL Gamepass.
