Man arrested for trying to kill a man with a hammer

A man in his twenties has been charged with attempted manslaughter. He beat a man repeatedly over the head and body with a claw hammer.

The victim has been diagnosed with epileptic fits as a result of the attack and his eye sight is impaired. He received deep cuts to his face and head and the bones of both hands were broken. He claims 10 million Icelandic krona as compensation.

The perpetrator has a lenghty criminal record for fraud, theft, traffic violations and drug offences.
