Hate Begets Hate Begets Hate Crimes Begets Hate Crimes

I think as a 3rd grader I hated Communism, because it was 1958, and I was getting a lot of information in school, including a video of Nikita Krushiev banging his shoe on a podium and screaming, "We will bury you!" And of course we had safety drills that went along with the videos where every few days we would have to huddled under our desks, in preparation for a nuclear bomb attack. This wasn't just occurring in our school, the Emerson Elementary School in Butte, Montana. It was happening everywhere in America. The land of the free and the home of the brave, whose "good" God crowns with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.

But hate is truly dangerous. It breeds hate. Which breeds hate crimes. Which breeds hate crimes.

It's one thing to hate Nazis, who are despicable. But it's another thing to hate them so much that you feel justified in raping a 10-year old girl simply because she was born in the 3rd Reich. The documentary HellStorm tells the story of how the hatred for the Nazis created such horribly evil reprisals against innocent Germans, mostly after the war, that the horrors have been expunged from "our" history books.

I weep for all victims of war and genocide. There are no good wars. Attrocities are typically committed by all sides involved. It is my hope that we are better people now than we were then.
Propaganda films portraying Nazis as innocent and helpless victims of western aggression don't really help in preventing or ending the hatred and violence. It is reckless and foolish to distribute such propaganda, as it may incite the next Jeremy Christian or James Alex Fields.
I am far more concerned with current events than ancient history.

If the government, the schools, the authorities, the media -- whatever you want to call our source of knowledge -- has lied to us, or concealed the truth, about the Lucitania, WWII, JFK, RFK, Gulf of Tonkin, 9-11, Iraq's WMDs, and so forth, then it seems to me that the only way we can begin to glean the truth from what's currently in the "news" is to recognize the un-truths that have been and are being used as the foundation for their "logic." If we know the background of deceit, then we have a better chance to avoid the trap of believing that it's somehow virtuous to hate -- and even despicable to NOT hate -- neoNazis.
