Officially: Google eliminates the option of seeing full images from the image search service.

Getty Images announced days ago that it has signed a new agreement with Google that will make radical changes to Google's search for images, which may be a source of dissatisfaction with many of the site's visitors who search for images from time to time!   The agreement states that Google will highlight the property rights declaration, which appears in a small line at the bottom of the search box, and the full image view, which allows you to open the entire image to upload on your device.  This is what Getty Images said:   (Google has worked closely with us to address many issues raised by Getty Images around Google Images, the image search functionality of Google. Moving forward, Google has agreed to make changes in Image Search, including making the copyright disclaimer more prominent and removing the view image button. This is a benefit to all image owners globally and we expect this to have a positive impact on traffic to our site.)

Thanks for sharing the info. Interestingly I had a thought the other day going through google images that I wasn't seeing as diverse of photos than usual it felt.

I dunno, they're a pretty crazy company always up to something. Part of me thinks this change might be good. From what I can tell it is meant to preserve the original source material, is that about right? In a time where so many images end up being modified, photoshopped or whatever it seems like it was only a matter of time. And in age where truth seems to always be questioned I feel we have to start sourcing our stuff more often. Exactly why I came to Steemit and embraced blockchain. Thanks for getting the wheels in my head spinning. Have a great day!

I agree, i think it's the right thing to do
