An Arizona man is accused of killing a man who shook his daughter's bathroom stall door in an effort to get to her.

According to the police report, 40-year old Melvin Harris drove to a convenience store to pick up his daughter who told him that a man had tried to enter her bathroom stall while at the store. She said she had met the man earlier that night when he asked her for money.

She identified the man to her father who approached the man and punched him in the face before beating him and kicking him as he lay on the ground moaning.

According to police, Harris claims the man had struck him first and that he had no recollection of beating the man after he'd fallen to the ground.

The man was hospitalized with a broken nose and brain injuries and succumbed to his wounds on Aug 7th.

My Commentary:
I am a father, so I understand the rage and I would likely have hit this guy too, but I wouldn't have beat him and kicked him as he lay on the ground. It seems in this case the first hit was effective. Leave it at that and call the cops.

Now, this father might end up spending the rest of his life in jail for killing a man who presented no immediate threat.

Sad all around.
