In the future MAINSTREAM NEWS not delivered on the BLOCKCHAIN will be considered FAKE NEWS..!!
As 2017 gets underway one thing that will dominate the news in the year will be the addressing and tackling of FAKE NEWS..!!
First of all in order to tackle any problem you need to accept that there is a problem in the first place.
You cannot address an issue like this unless you believe without question that it is a problem to begin with.
As far as I am concerned FAKE NEWS is a Global Epidemic of Biblical Proportion and one that I believe exists without any shadow of doubt..!!
FAKE NEWS is rife and things will get a lot worse before they get any better.
2017 is the year that the FAKE NEWS problem finally becomes a reality.
Technically there is only ONE Technology currently available to tackle this huge Global problem and that is BLOCKCHAIN Technology.
No other Technology is available to tackle the issue.
As we move into 2017 BLOCKCHAIN Technology will be unleashed to the populous and more and more people will become aware of the Technology as the year passes.
Social Media will be the driving force pushing forward the Technology and Mainstream Media will have no other choice but to accept defeat in delivering the story of the sheer brute force and power that BLOCKCHAIN Technology produces.
When people finally wake-up to the simplicity of BLOCKCHAIN Technology by realising that it is nothing more than a Decentralised method of sharing and distributing data as oppose to the Centralised methods currently used this is when BLOCKCHAIN Technology will take off..!!
In the future people will rely on a Decentralised method to extract their News Feeds whether it be on Social Media or Mainstream Media and this is where STEEMIT has positioned itself faultlessly.
I have said it before and I will continually repeat it, Dan and Ned are pure geniuses to be the first to develop an autonomous Decentralised Global Blockchain Social Media Platform and when people finally realise what it actually does they would not blog, post or share on any other Social Media Platform..!!
Social Media will take the lead in delivering BLOCKCHAIN NEWS FEEDS and this will be rapidly followed by Mainstream Media for fear of losing their audience.
FAKE NEWS awareness is one of my Top Predictions for 2017 and what better place to share this but on STEEMIT..!!
The future is not tomorrow, the future arrived in 2016..!!

I love the blockchain, but I don't think it is the end all of fake news. People can post whatever the heck they want, true or not. If it's garbage - sure it will get downvoted/flagged....but its still out there. People still have read it and some other clown with another account will do it next. It will help reduce it and discred it but there will always be some if it floating around.
I agree with this statement. I do not see how a blockchain could really help to stop the problem.
I agree - blockchain cannot validate news reports in its present form.

hi stephen, what exactly is fake news. i have been seen it on steemit and the whole pizzagate thing etc but never really looked into it. is fake news, like fake news, create news that isnt true as a social stunt. if that is it, i think the internet needs it to infused some fresh or fictionlike things into it, so it stays dynamic and not get boring with recycled information
Fake News is news that is reported that is NOT TRUE in order to distort the real TRUTH. Usually done for financial gain. Stephen

is it dangerous. i dont want to get wrath but it is an interesting route to take. my first blog idea when i so much younger was aimed to work in similar fashion but more for good, where i was to whitewash celebrities scandals. that was like 10 years ago.
